about
This song is our first song we ever produced. Recorded straight out of a closet and masterfully mix and mastered on a MacBook with a broken screen. The gist of the song is about escaping someones grip on your emotions, however it is up for interpretation.
lyrics
i can't tell you, to go at it alone
the only thing i wanted was, somewhere to go
besides inside where i struggle to find
a way to feel right, like i look in your eyes
they since have shut
she's back at my throat but, it's on me to draw
paper tiger in the forest, she lost all her claws
so she can't catch me and tear me apart
wrap her legs around my neck, with her teeth in my heart
paper tiger in the forest, can't tear me apart
so tell me lies, as i, systematically destroy everything in my life
and hold me close, as my, thoughts become twisted and morose
unfortunately it seems, you've got your teeth, dug in deep
disappear in the night and i'm afraid of the dark
tracking you til light, striking flint for a spark
she's been running circles round my path for years
must be on her ninth life lying low out fear
you're on your own, but far from gone
did you use me, for a way to get even
were you lonely, without yourself to believe in
are you scared to see what lies underneath us
what no one else could ever eat but you
are you scared to feed what is underneath us
what no one could ever feed
so close your eyes, as i, automatically burn everything in sight
and pull the rope, as i, ignore every word that i was told
you've instilled your fear within me, you've got your teeth dug in deep
this is the end, don't call us friends, i'm here again
you're just a fraud, knew it all along, i'm here again
dug in deep
